Then I realized I can't find the old belt, which I set somewhere so I wouldn't lose it when it was time to get a new one... so much for even the best laid plans.

I need to get the cylinder off the top of the spindle so that I can get inside the pulley area to put the new belt on. The service guy has done a few before but for some reason we can't get the top to seperate from the casting.
